Children & Youth

YOUTH

At Linglestown Life, we welcome our middle and high school aged kids to join us at The Edge Youth Group on Sunday nights, and to our Disciple U (DU) class on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in fellowship hall.  The EDGE follows the school year and will kicks off in September.

KIDZ ZONE (K THROUGH FIFTH GRADE)

Check in is just inside the main entrance at the Linglestown Campus at 10:00am. Parent pickup is at the pavilion.  We will enjoy our vast, beautiful outdoor spaces through the end of October and will let you know on a week by week basis where we are landing thereafter.  Our spiritual goal for elementary children includes learning to trust and follow God and their faith.

PRESCHOOL (AGES 2-1/2 THROUGH 4+)

For our children who have not attended kindergarten yet, we offer two levels of preschool Sunday school in the classrooms located in the hallway behind our traditional sanctuary at our Linglestown Campus at 10:00am. Little Disciples I is led by Donna Kunisky and is on the left side of the hallway.  It is open to ages 2-1/2 to age 4.  Little Disciples II is led by Sue Love and is on the right side of the hallway.  It is open to ages 4 or older who have not yet attended kindergarten.

NURSERY CARE (AGE THREE MONTH TO 2-1/2)

Nursery care will be offered during our 10:00am worship service at our Linglestown Campus in the nursery space closest to the Family Life Center.  Our childcare is appropriate for children from three months through preschool as our spaces are equipped with everything necessary for infant and toddler care and comfort, along with toys and books.

A semi-private space is available for nursing moms.

WELCOME TO THE EDGE!  THE EDGE YOUTH GROUP meets during the school year on Sunday evenings, generally from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in our Fellowship Hall space at our Linglestown Campus.  Find Fellowship Hall by driving ALL the way around the church to the back, and look for the RED double doors to enter!  We consider ourselves WORKS IN PROGRESS at the EDGE as we learn more about our EveryDayGodlyExperiences, apply these to our lives in relevant and FUN ways, and build relationships with God and each other.

This group is open to sixth through twelfth grade students, understanding that on many occasions we will separate the ages for specific discussions and even some activities.  All EDGE youth will help us get to know them by completing a STUDENT CONNECT CARD at a meeting, and MUST hand in a PARENT PERMISSION/WAIVER FORM that can be picked up at a meeting OR downloaded by clicking here.  We encourage Edge Youth to bring friends, and all are welcome.

FirstSundays4Worship

FirstSunday4Worship – on this Sunday, no morning classes are held for kindergarten through twelfth grade as it is our goal to emphasize that Sunday as a day we specifically encourage our community of faith to reach out to one another, to invite extended family and friends to church, and to encourage and celebrate our relationships through worship together. This includes a focus on our children and youth as we invite and encourage them to join parents and caregivers in the pews so that, together, they can experience and better understand aspects of worship foundational to their faith journey. Nursery care, Little Lambs, and Little Disciples I and II continue to offer care and classes EVERY Sunday, as usual.

We Are A Safe Sanctuary

At Linglestown Life, our team of dedicated children and youth servants has been through our Safe Sanctuaries training program. This program not only screens our volunteers, but also provides them with a safe and consistent procedure by which we can protect both our children and our adult volunteers.  As part of this policy for children through fifth grade, we ask our parents and caregivers to sign-in their child when dropping off and sign-out their child when picking up directly from the classrooms.  For more information about our Safe Sanctuaries, please go to Linglestown Life Safe Sanctuaries Policy
