Children & Youth

Mark Your Calendars for September 12th!

At Linglestown Life, we welcome our middle and high school aged kids to join us at The Edge Youth Group on Sunday nights, and to our Disciple U (DU) class on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in fellowship hall.  The EDGE WILL begin on Sunday, September 12, with a series of kick off events celebrating SUMMER’S LAST STAND!  PLEASE be sure to register your student PRIOR to coming to youth events.

September 12 is also the date to mark for this age group as they continue with CLASS ON THE GREEN, checking in at the Café space, just inside the main entrance @ our Linglestown campus at 10:00.  Parent pickup is at the pavilion.  We will enjoy our vast, beautiful outdoor spaces through the end of October and will let you know where we are landing thereafter.  Our spiritual goal for elementary children includes learning to trust and follow God and their faith.

For our children who have not attended kindergarten yet, we offer two levels of preschool Sunday school in the classrooms located in the hallway behind our traditional sanctuary @ our Linglestown campus at 10:00. Little Disciples I is led by Donna Kunisky and is on the left side of the hallway.  It is open to ages 2-1/2 to age 4.  Little Disciples II is led by Sue Love and is on the right side of the hallway.  It is open to ages 4 or older who have not yet attended kindergarten.

Nursery care will be offered during our 10:00 worship service at our Linglestown campus in the nursery space closest to the Family Life Center.  Our childcare is appropriate for children from three months through preschool as our spaces are equipped with everything necessary for infant and toddler care and comfort, along with toys and books.

A semi-private space is available for nursing moms.

*FIRST SUNDAYS will continue being ‘off’ for kindergarten through 12th grades.  This may be reevaluated after October.

*STUDENT REGISTRATION for ALL kids (nursery through 12th) is necessary and EASY.  Please do so BEFORE September 12.  IF YOU REGISTERED YOUR CHILD FOR OUR SUMMER SESSION, you do not need to redo this registration.  Otherwise, PLEASE complete before September 12.  The youth link is found above, for all other children, use this link:

*COVID PROTOCALS continue to be in place.  We no longer take temperatures, but hand and toy sanitizer are utilized.  In our classroom spaces, we will provide separate pencils boxes for each student so no sharing of crayons etc. takes place, and we will do our best to keep the kids spread out.  MASKS will be required for kids and adult servants for ages 2 through fifth grade, and we strongly recommend that our middle and high schoolers mask up, too.   As this situation is fluid, we will constantly evaluate these needs and keep everyone current and up to date.  Thank you for helping us do our best for everyone, understanding and validating that each of us comes together from unique situations and varied perspectives.  We can do this!

We need your student / child to be registered.  You may use the link below to register, preferably prior to attending so that our volunteers know how to best minister to your child.

WELCOME TO THE EDGE!  THE EDGE YOUTH GROUP meets during the school year on Sunday evenings, generally from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in our Fellowship Hall space at our Linglestown Campus.  Find Fellowship Hall by driving ALL the way around the church to the back, and look for the RED double doors to enter!  We consider ourselves WORKS IN PROGRESS at the EDGE as we learn more about our EveryDayGodlyExperiences, apply these to our lives in relevant and FUN ways, and build relationships with God and each other.

This group is open to sixth through twelfth grade students, understanding that on many occasions we will separate the ages for specific discussions and even some activities.  All EDGE youth will help us get to know them by completing a STUDENT CONNECT CARD at a meeting, and MUST hand in a PARENT PERMISSION/WAIVER FORM that can be picked up at a meeting OR downloaded by clicking here.  We encourage Edge Youth to bring friends, and all are welcome.

FirstSunday4Worship   …on this Sunday, no morning classes are held for kindergarten through twelfth grade as it is our goal to emphasize that Sunday as a day we specifically encourage our community of faith to reach out to one another, to invite extended family and friends to church, and to encourage and celebrate our relationships through worship together. This includes a focus on our children and youth as we invite and encourage them to join parents and caregivers in the pews so that, together, they can experience and better understand aspects of worship foundational to their faith journey. Nursery care, Little Lambs, and Little Disciples I and II continue to offer care and classes EVERY Sunday, as usual.

We Are A Safe Sanctuary

At Linglestown Life, our team of dedicated children and youth servants has been through our Safe Sanctuaries training program. This program not only screens our volunteers, but also provides them with a safe and consistent procedure by which we can protect both our children and our adult volunteers.  As part of this policy for children through fifth grade, we ask our parents and caregivers to sign-in their child when dropping off and sign-out their child when picking up directly from the classrooms.  For more information about our Safe Sanctuaries, please go to Linglestown Life Safe Sanctuaries Policy
