A Season Of Hope
2020 has been a year that offered little hope. But our Hope is in Jesus, the greatest gift of all!
Each Sunday of Advent you are invited to journey with us to the manger of Bethlehem that holds the hope of the world!
At our Advent Kick-off we will be distributing resources for you to use at home in conjunction with the weekly messages. These include instructions for you to begin a tradition of an Advent wreath lighting at your home. There are materials for kids to actively participate in the weekly themes of Advent.
CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES
Christmas Eve will be unique at churches all over the world! That will be true at Linglestown Life as well. We have chosen to offer two unique worship experiences. Our hope is that you can participate in these services with your family and neighbors.
4:00PM – OUTDOOR AT THE LINGLESTOWN CAMPUS
Drive-in to our outdoor wonderland as we celebrate Jesus’ birth with carols and candlelight! We will sing some favorite carols together, read the Christmas story and end our 45 minute experience with a candle lighting ceremony. You can remain in your car or bring a chair to sit closer to the stage.
Candles and glow sticks will be provided for all participants.
6:00PM – ONLINE CHRISTMAS EVE
Our online Christmas Eve service will be a celebration of family, traditions, and carols. You will be able to access the service LIVE at 6:00pm on Facebook and on our website, or watch it on-demand when you gather with family and friends later in the evening. We know you’ll want to share this experience around your tree, or by the fire!
ADVENT KICK-OFF CELEBRATION
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd – 4:30-5:30PM
We could all use an extra measure of hope this year!
HOPE is our theme this Advent and we want you to get in the spirit of celebration. Join us at the Linglestown Campus for this celebration. We will gather outside around a bonfire, sing carols, drink hot cocoa, and distribute at-home materials for Advent.
We want to spread our hope to a resident at the United Methodist Home for Children in Mechanicsburg. We will have the names of residents and specific items for those young people this Christmas. You can choose a name, purchase the gift, and return it by December 6th.
We are also bringing hope to those experiencing homelessness in our community by inviting you to donate knit hats, gloves, socks and blankets for Bethesda Mission. The donation of these items will culminate on Christmas Eve at our outdoor service, however you can bring your donation at any time to either campus.
ROCKVILLE COMMUNITY CAROL SING SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6th 4:30-5:30PM
We’ll be lighting a tree and singing carols with our Rockville campus neighbors! We are excited to welcome the local community around the Rockville campus to sing and fellowship outside. If you have friends that live in the area of the Rockville campus please invite them to attend!

As we move into the final months of 2020, we would like to invite you to prayerfully consider a Christmas Gift over and above your regular giving. As you are able to support this Christmas gift to Linglestown Life we will be able to end the year on a strong financial footing and be prepared for the new year.
An envelope for the Christmas Offering is enclosed with this letter. You can bring the envelope to worship or mail it to Linglestown Life, 1430 N Mountain Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17112. You can also use our online giving option by selecting the Christmas Offering fund. The link is available on our website at www.LinglestownLife.org/giving
Thank you for your faithful stewardship to Linglestown Life during the course of 2020. You have been partnering together with others to support our ministry through a challenging time. The strength of our ministry is a reflection of your good stewardship.
