Fear

Fear prevents us from engaging the power of God that dwells within us.

Key Verse: 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. NLT

God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible. MSG

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. NIV

Paul reminds Timothy to fan into flame the gift of God that dwells in him.  The Spirit is given to disciples to empower them to engage in a testimony that lifts up Jesus.  However, our fears often hold us back from being the disciples that we are called to be through Jesus.

In this series, we will examine how our fears handicap us from engaging the Spirit of God that dwells within us; and how we can break those chains of fear that enslave us.
